For young travellers visiting Cape Town, the outdoor party scene is one of our best kept-secrets. It’s the perfect way to enjoy being in the natural surroundings that the Western Cape has to offer while dancing under the sunshine to some of South Africans best music artists.
From picturesque mountain sides, to the long stretch of beach in Gordon’s Bay, each venue in itself has a unique excitement and energy.
I recently went to “We Love Summer” for the Secret Garden Party at the Solms-Delta Wine Farm in Franschhoek. The party started at 10am – it was a very hot day reaching 39 degrees!
Luckily there was a small river as well as a shallow pool for a quick dip to cool off. There were food stalls, a bar and a couple of clothing and accessory pop-up shops.
We wandered around the wine farm which also had a tranquil dam filled with lily pads and fish. The venue was open to anyone wanting to explore the area and what the “secret garden” had to offer. We danced into the night and at 10pm, we headed home with sore feet and burnt faces, but it was definitely worth it. Take a look at the video of the day of fun in the sun.
